Immigration Psychological Evaluations

Assessment Procedures

#1
In an effort to provide the most objective and accurate assessment possible, all immigration evaluations begin with an in-depth conversation with the referring attorney to collect as much information as possible in order to develop a clear understanding of the unique nature and circumstances of the case at hand. Only after this initial gathering of information is completed do we then schedule an opportunity to meet with the client.
#2
Once an appointment with the client is scheduled, the assessment process begins with an extensive one-on-one interview with each of the involved parties. This critical phase is where our psychologists gather important facts about an individual's case. Information regarding the client's family, social, educational, work and medical histories, as well as any relevant records and documentation from attorneys, doctors and hospitals, are all reviewed in order to uncover any issues that may impact the nature of the immigration proceedings.
#3
Based on the information obtained from the one-on-one interview(s), our psychologists then employ a series of psychological tests designed to capture additional details and information to help paint a clearer picture the client's current state of mental health. Our large inventory of empirically derived measures, written in English (and available in several other languages upon request), are all recognized as highly valid and reliable.
